Nate and I have been so very blessed in the short amount of time that we have been able to spend in Mukono, Uganda. We both have had the opportunity to stay in this beautiful place for 10 days each. Nate was able to fly over a few days before the Scottsboro, Alabama team arrived. However, upon hearing of the news of an accident that happened on SIFAT's campus on Thursday morning, Nate made the tough decision to fly back to the United States a few days early. He is on an airplane right now and will arrive back in Atlanta on Saturday afternoon.
This morning, our entire team arrived at Agape where we gathered with the children in their temporary chapel area for singing and praying. William explained to all of the children about the accident and all of them gathered around Nate and I as they sang and prayed for all of the SIFAT L&S participants and their families, SIFAT's staff and volunteers, for safe travels for Nate for his flight home. William proclaimed that our God is not a God of distance and that our prayers know no bounds. We are continuing to pray for all of those affected by yesterday's events.
Our brothers and sisters in Uganda are praying as well.

The rest of our afternoon consisted of more painting and more roofing!
A major praise: We held a baptismal ceremony this afternoon for one of the workers who has been helping out on the roofing project. He (Musa, now Moses) professed his faith in Jesus Christ this afternoon and was baptized in a hole dug in the ground, lined with tarps and filled with water from the nearby spigot. Moses grew up in a Muslim home and claimed to be Muslim. He has been communicating for the last few weeks with some of the team members, specifically Barry Mann. Moses decided earlier this week that he now believed that Jesus Christ was his Lord and that he wanted to be baptized. So baptize we did. Once he came out of the water, his name was changed from Musa to Moses! All of the Agape children and some of the neighborhood kids were there. After Moses was baptized, two other children from Agape stepped forward and also professed their faith in Jesus and were baptized as well. It was such a special moment in their lives and such a powerful ceremony to witness.
We need our prayers warriors out there continuing to lift all of us up as we are nearing our time to leave this place. Continue prayers for "Uncle Nate" (as the children call him). Pray for our team and the rest of our time in Uganda. Pray for SIFAT.
